Women and Leadership

On 22th Aug 2014, Cambodia Labour Confederation has conducted a training on the woman leadership in CLC room meeting. There are 16 participation who come from union who are the leader union and activist. This training focusing on three main objectives like Improve the capacity affiliated of CLC on leadership skill, focused on right of worker and women to become a leader and discuss the function in union, and to increase the number in leadership.

Mr. Ath Thorn, president of CLC has come to open remark for women and leadership Training. He focuses on back ground of CLC, vision, mission, goal and objective of CLC. The situation of women in garment sector, the avoid discrimination against sexual. The education of women leadership. He adds about CLC network and partner.

Ms. Heng Chenda, Gender Committee Chief of CLC is the internal expert has shared on three points such as CLC Background, General Situation of Women and Leadership in Cambodia, and the attitude of Leadership.

Ms Thida Khus, executive director of Silaka is an external expert has shared her experience that focus on the history of SILAKA, social insecurity at Rural, the situation of woman in rural area, the issue of ASEAN.

Ms. Yorm Bopha, Land Activist of Boeung Kok community come to share on dispute between the communities with the government, the strike to demand the land, the violation from authority to people in community. Result: finally, this training has completed on a big successful. The participant have interested in this training so much. They get a lot of knowledge from all of speaker. The participant is very active in sharing and asking the question to the speaker. The speakers are strongly in sharing the experience, and they have more experience and case study shared to participant. The speaker also have interested in the training also. They don’t know this event come to finish.
