Youth 2015

 

I. Background of Youth Project:

CLC understand clearly that youth an invaluable resource and a key towards of economic, social, cultural and political development of the country. Youth met the challenges that prevent their progressing. Obstacles, including the participation of youth in social activities, participation and awareness of union bindings as Youth Network the ability to get a quality education, training decision professional health and sources of information that is there is lack of information and least understanding of the labor market about youth.

Based on seeing the problems that youth are facing today, Cambodian Labour Confederation and the Federal Association, a member raised the idea as well as indicators of the effort to create a department (project of Youth) youth, in the promoting and providing opportunities meaningful to youth participation and understanding of trade unions, along with participation in the process of economic and social.

II. Mission of Youth Project:

  • Create the committee and Youth network
  • Increase the participant of youth in union
  • Increase the information for youth
  • Improving the professional training for youth
  • Create the opportunity for youth
  • Improve the security protecting and social justice for youth
  • Improve the gender equity for youth

III. The challenge of youth:

  • Not clear for the actual members of youth
  • Structure of youth it still incorrect
  • The collaboration and information exchange is limited
  • Youth commission project don’t have enough ability to collect about youth information
  • Youth budget is not enough.

IV. The result:

  • Create the committee and Youth network
  • Increase the participant in union
  • Improve the professional training to youth in Phnom Penh and provided training to youth at the other province among in Cambodia like, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kompong Cham, Svay Reang, and Prey Veng province.
  • Create the opportunity for youth and provide other training on topic like the way to finding the jobs, how to write CV, and the processing of interviewing, etc.
  • Promote the security protecting and social justice for youth. At the last time, the department of youth organizing the campaign to demand the minimum wages and to removed the short contracts by themselves and other participant organizations.
  • Promote the equity by other training, Youth department has promoting the women to participant Promote women to enter from the general environment, as well as women in the Youth Commission and Youth Network representative.
